World Vision has supported various projects and programs in the county government of Elgeyo Marakwet for several years, dating back to the pre-devolution era.
The agency representatives together with Governor Wisley Rotich on Thursday signed a Four-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering Ten sectors of mutual interest.
These include Water and Sanitation; Health and Nutrition; Climate Change Adaptation; Environment and Natural Resources; Disaster Risk Reduction and Community Resilience; Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock Development & Fisheries; Children, Youth, Gender & Social Services; Resource Mobilisation and Economic Planning; Cooperatives, Trade & Industry; and Education and Training.
The initiative will be rolled out across all the Five sub-counties and will remain in force until September 2030.
The World Vision delegation was led by Dr. Gershon Mwakazi, Interim National Director, accompanied by the organization’s Director of Programme Effectiveness and Impact, Fredrick Kasiku, alongside Dr. Heglon Kitawi, Dr. Wairimu Mugare, and others.
Also present were County Secretary Lazarus Chebii, CECs Edwin Kibor and Edwin Seroney, County Attorney Dorcas Cheruiyot, Chief Officers (COs), and other staff from various departments.
