
Governor Tolgos is an astute leader with an entrepreneurship and engineering background. He aims to better the livelihoods of the Kenyan people through implementation of sustainable development projects.
His areas of interest include affordable and reliable healthcare services, infrastructure improvement, promotion of education, agribusiness and irrigation development, sports and culture development, technology empowerment, entrepreneurship promotion and markets development as well as youth empowerment.
Governor Tolgos is a holder of B.Sc Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi. He also has CPA qualifications. His an alumni of St Patrick’s High School, Iten.
Prior to assuming office as Governor Elgeyo Marakwet, he has served in various managerial positions. They include Kenol / Kobil where he was Assistant Operations Manager-Mombasa and later Depot Inventory Manager-Eldoret. Tolgos also served as Kobcom Petroleum as Operations and Marketing Director. He has also undertaken professional training at the East African Portland Cement and Kenya Railways (Now Rift Valley Railways).
He was elected the first Governor of Elgeyo Marakwet County on March 4th 2013 and was again re-elected on August 8th 2017 to serve for a second term as Governor.
He is the current chairman of the ICT Committee at the Council of governors (CoG).
H.E. Eng. Alex Tolgos

His Excellency Eng. Alex Tolgos is the first Governor of County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet.

H.E Wisley took the oath of office as Elgeyo Marakwet’s second Deputy Governor on August, 21st, 2017. He hails from Emsoo Ward, Keiyo North Sub-County and is married with two Children.
He holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Moi University and has previously served the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) as a budget officer and later Equity Bank in the position of operations officer.
At KWS, Wisley was responsible for preparation of budget, rationalization, monitoring and evaluation while at Equity Bank, he served in the operations department implementing the bank’s key strategies including donor funded projects.
Prior to assuming the post of Deputy Governor, Wisley served in the County Department of Tourism, Trade, Cooperatives and Energy as Director Cooperatives.
He is credited with initiating a revival plan of dormant Cooperative Societies in Elgeyo Marakwet County which includes the ongoing automation of their operations.
H.E Wisley intends to use his position as Deputy Governor to further build on these achievements particularly targeting the youth and other special interest groups for economic empowerment through cooperatives.
He is further passionate about community empowerment through entrepreneurship to create jobs and stable families.
He is among the youngest deputy governors in Kenya and he hopes his elevation to the position will serve as a motivator to other youth in Elgeyo Marakwet and Kenya in general to believe in themselves and dream big.

Deputy Governor
His Excellency Deputy Governor Wisley Rotich has a special interest in citizen-driven sustainable development. He believes in the power of many by rallying citizens together for a cause, thereby taking advantage of economies of scale and achieving faster development.
County Leadership

An advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Hon Murkomen holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B) of the University of Nairobi and Master of Laws (LLM) degrees from American University’s Washington College of Law, Washington DC, USA and University of Pretoria, South Africa and a Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law.
He is the First Senator of Elgeyo Marakwet County, elected on 4th March 2013 and was re-elected on 8th August 2017. He served as the Deputy Leader of Majority in his first term as Senator and was elected majority Leader of the Kenyan Senate in his second term.

Hon. P.K Sabulei is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Moi University and a Post graduate Diploma from Kenya School of Law. He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya having been called and admitted to the bar on 30th April 2016.
Prior to his election as the County Assembly Speaker, Hon. Sabulei served as the Group Legal Officer of Sasini Ltd, a public listed company and a member of Sameer Group of Companies.
Hon. Kiplagat Sabulei is one of the youngest speaker’s of the Kenyan County Assemblies and is determined to use his vibrant leadership to effectively spearhead the county’s legislation, representation and oversight mandate pursuant to Article 185 of the Constitution of Kenya.

The Office of the County Secretary is the heartbeat of all operations by the Executive. As the County Secretary, he is the Head of the County Public Service and also the secretary to the County Executive Committee. Being the Head of the public Service, he is responsible for the coordination and smooth operation of all County departments.
The office of the County secretary ensures all departments generate quarterly implementation reports which he in turn channels to the County Assembly and. As Head of Public Service, he communicates and follows up to ensure County Executive resolutions are implemented.

She worked for the then Kenya Railways Corporation from the year 2002 until 2006 when she was recruited into the Kenya Prison Service where she served as a prison constable and resigned in 2017 to venture into politics.
She was overwhelmingly elected the County Member of Parliament (Women Representative) of Elgeyo Marakwet on 8th August 2017, General Election.
Hon. Chebaibai is currently the Patron of Chebaibai Foundation which is a charitable organization to support the less privileged in Society. She is also the Patron of Elgeyo Marakwet County National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) where she is passionate to address the plight of Women, Youth and People with Disabilities (PWDs).
Her desire for peace and harmony in the region saw her being elected to the Parliamentary Committee on National Cohesion, Integrity and Equal Opportunity. She is also an ardent sports personality and believes in strong family values that enabled her election into the Parliamentary Committee on Sports, Tourism, Culture and Gender.
