Deputy Governor Prof. Grace Cheserek today kicked off her County women empowerment program in Endo, Marakwet East with a call for women to believe in themselves and dream big.
Dubbed ‘Meet the Women Tour’, the Deputy Governor said she would go round the County in her mission to empower women who are pillars of society.
“Strengthening women and their programs equals to empowering the community at large,” she said.
She briefed the women who gathered at Endo Mission on county programs and plans spearheaded by Governor Wisley Rotich.
Prof Cheserek encouraged them to take initiative and come up with business proposals so that she can connect them with financiers.
“I challenge the youth and our women to take advantage and apply for funds from state bodies which are often repaid with lower interest rates, do business and improve your lives,” she said.
Gender Advisor, Winnie Kanda who was present echoed Prof. Cheserek’s sentiments urging the women to be bold and engage in business.
Tomorrow, the same program will be held in Chesongoch mission in Endo Ward.
Also present were Ward administrator Lydia Kipkeu and other officials.
