The County Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding MoU with Moi University and Ampath on the deployment of Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) to all healthcare facilities across the County.
The Moi University team was led by Dr. Jeremiah Laktabai.
The equipment is AI-enabled, which has revolutionized the diagnosis of:
●Breast cancer,
●Lung cancer,
●obstetrics, and general organ assessments.
It offers real-time bedside diagnosis, bringing advanced imaging directly to the patient.
According to Governor Wisley Rotich, already 82 health facilities including all the 20 model health centres have been equipped with the gadgets. The remaining facilities will be equipped progressively.
Present during the signing were Dr. Hussein Elias (Lead, POCUS Project), CEC Monicah Rotich, and CO Jeremiah Chirchir, among other staff.
