Technical Training games 2nd Edition

Elgeyo Marakwet County Sports Minister Purity Koima flagged off the second edition of Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions KATTI games at Tambach Teachers’ college.

The activity brought together participants drawn from at least 15 institutions within the North rift region.

The two days’ event whose theme is “Achieving sustainable Development through Science, Technology and Innovation, has variety of sporting activities.

Ms. Koima called on upcoming athletes to embrace clean sport free from doping.

“As a County government, we have partnered with the Anti-doping Agency ADAK establish a physical office in Iten,” said Koima.

She encouraged the participants to also consider taking part in the annual Iten international marathon which will be held in 26th November.

KATTI regional chairman Mr. Eric Tanui commended the county government for the partnership.

“Through such events, the participants have a platform to showcase their talent and even develop careers,” said the chairman.

H.E Governor Wisely Rotich administration has always championed to support Technical and Vocational institutions in nurturing Sport talent.

KATTI provides a common forum for identifying common interests to the institutions and determining strategies for addressing such issues for the purpose of quality improvement of Technical Education and training.
