The County government has received a consignment of bee keeping equipment procured by the Kenya Livestock Commercialization Project (KeLCoP).
These include 130 Langstroth bee hives, Queen excuder, 13 Catcher box, Harvesting kits, Automatic honey extractor, Wax and honey separator.
The equipment will be distributed to farmers in soy North, Tambach and Sambirir Electoral Wards.
Ms Dorothy Bomet, the County Program Coordinator said the agency targets to empower 6,584 households in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
“Our value chains compromise sheep, meat goat, dairy goat, indeginous chicken and beekeeping,” Bomet said in Iten town on Tuesday upon receiving the equipment in company of County Agriculture CEC Edwin Seroney.
