It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing on of Member of County Assembly for Endo Ward, Hon Jeremiah Kibiwott Kiptum, who was popularly known to many as Hon Toryebe.
This follows his untimely demise due to illness bravely borne at a hospital in Nairobi.
H.E Governor Wisley Rotich has led the County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet and residents in expressing sadness for the loss of the distinguished senior MCA whose wisdom and fatherly counsel, he said, the entire County Government will miss and always cherish.
The Governor described Hon Toryebe as a dedicated leader who served his Endo people with commitment to his very last days.
He recalled how, despite his sickness, Hon Toriebe got personally involved in rescue and recovery efforts during the November 2025 landslides in his Ward, where more than 40 lives were lost and scores injured.
The Governor also heaped praise on the late Hon Toryebe, who also served as Chairperson of the County Assembly Agriculture and Irrigation Committee, for supporting his wealth creation strategy through the sector, as well as peace efforts in Kerio Valley.
The County boss sent condolences to his family, Endo Ward residents, the County Assembly fraternity, friends and relatives saying he prays God’s comfort, peace and fortitude will reign as they process and come to terms with the loss.
