This year’s World Environment Day is a call to action for land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience.

Elgeyo Marakwet County Government leadership led by CECM Jason Lagat took a significant step towards this goal by planting over 20,000 trees at Singore wetlands in Keiyo North Sub County.
Elgeyo Marakwet County is committed to the Country’s movement of achieving 15 Billion trees by planting 60 million trees by 2027.
The event was graced by Lady Justice Lucy Waithaka and attended by CeCm Water and Environment Jason Lagat, the department’s Chief Officer Isaac and the Director, among others.
