Potato farmers from 14 groups in Kapsowar Ward, Marakwet West sub-county have benefited from certified seeds.
The move, which is aimed at improving potato production in the area that has stagnated owing to poor seeds, according to Agriculture CEC Edwin Seroney, is expected to plant more than 50 acres of land.
In partnership with Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project (KCSAP), the county government distributed over 1000 bags of 50-kilo bags of seeds to farmers.
Agriculture Committee chair at the County Assembly Jeremiah Biwott, KCSAP coordinator Joel Kibor,and area Ward administrator among other staff from Livestock Department were present.
