Congratulations to Hon Lawi Kibire, the incoming Elgeyo Marakwet County Assembly Speaker.
H.E Governor Wisley Rotich and the immediate former Speaker Kiplagat Sabulei have expressed congratulatory messages to the new sheriff in town.
The Governor wrote:”Hearty congratulations to the third speaker of Elgeyo Marakwet County Assembly. I wish you well as you steer our great County Assembly to greater heights. Pongezi,”
The youthful Kibire served in the previous County Assembly as MCA on Jubilee Party nomination representing the Youth.
The nominated MCA successfully challenged Metkei Ward MCA Philip Kipruto Chebolei in the UDA party primaries and subsequently won the 2022 MCA seat.
Upon resignation of his predecessor Mr Sabulei who moved to Nairobi ostensibly to take up a national government assignment, Mr Kibire resigned to contest the Speaker’s seat.
