Mozzart donates sh 2 million PPEs to Iten Referral Hospital

Mozzart Bet Kenya has donated medical supplies to the Iten Referral Hospital (ICRH) worth sh 2 million to aid in the war against Covid-19.
The PPE supplies included surgical masks, gloves, gowns and disposable bags which will be utilized by medical workers at ICRH.
The donation was made by Mozzart Kenya Country Manager, Mr Sasa Krneta, to Governor Alex Tolgos at his office. He said the donation was part of the company’s contribution to the fight against the pandemic.
“Covid-19 has slowed down most sectors of the economy globally and it is important that we all stand united in the fight against this pandemic,” he said.
Krneta, who was accompanied by Mozzart’s Marketing Manager, Okoth Ochieng, said the donation was part of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative which had so far assisted 21 hospitals in the country to a tune of sh 60 million.
He added that Mozzart had commissioned the digging of water wells for communities in Kenya under its “100 Wells For our Communities” project.
“We have done four fresh water wells and we hope to complete the 96 in the near future. Water is just as important as the PPE equipment in the fight against Covid-19,” he said.
While appreciating the donation, Governor Tolgos hailed Mozzart for the donation, saying it had come in handy as the country battles the third wave of Covid-19.
He also thanked Dr John Kibosia, who is the Director Health Services, Kenya Police Service, for connecting Mozzart with the County.
“This donation will assist our medical workers be better prepared even as the country faces a third wave,” he said.
The Governor made an appeal to the Company to also consider sponsoring a marathon in Iten to support the development of athletics in the County.
Krneta accepted the request and said the Company would work towards organizing a Marathon in Iten while appreciating that the County was majorly an athletics hub.
“I thank you Mr Governor for this wonderful idea. We are big on football but we shall definitely consider your request and host a Marathon here in Iten,” he said.
Present during the handover ceremony were Health CEC Isaac Kamar, Public Service CEC Pamela Rono, Chief Officers Mary Kipchumba, Josephat Maiyo together with other County and Mozzart senior officers.
