Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) has opened its third branch in Kapcherop Centre, a move hailed by county leadership as proof of the area’s growing economy driven by agriculture and trade.

The new branch will offer farmers, traders and entrepreneurs direct access to banking services, loans and financial advisory without traveling to Iten or Eldoret.
Speaking during the launch on Monday, Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich said the investment by KCB reflects confidence in the county’s economic potential.
“This is testament to the robust growth of Kapcherop town owing to increased business activities and agricultural production in the region. Our people can now access financial services right at their doorstep,” Governor Rotich said.
Marakwet West MP Timothy Toroitich, Kapcherop MCA Asbel Kiptoo, and County Chief Officers Fromency Kosgei (Roads) and Paul Ruto (Education) were among leaders who attended the event.

Local traders welcomed the development, saying it will cut transport costs and improve cash flow for small businesses.
