Staff from Kaptarakwa Sub-County Hospital and CHPs gave residents of Kaptarakwa a Valentines Day gift by extending their love through a medical screening exercise at St Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, Lelin, Kitany Location, Kaptarakwa Ward.
The team that was led by Keiyo South Medical of Health Officer Dr. David Munene and Kaptarakwa Medical Superintendent Meshack Chemjor oversaw the screening and treatment of more than 300 people.
“We have screened and treated more than 300 people today. We have realised that several of our people, especially the aged, are not receiving any medical attention owing to the distance they need to travel,” said Dr. Munene.
Gladys Kandie said that she appreciated doctors from Kaptarakwa for spending their time on such a day to attend patients. ” I would like to thank the staff from Kaptarakwa for coming to celebrate with us this day. We have been screened and treated, ” she said.
Area Chief Francis Chumba thanked the doctors and urged them to organise more medical camps in the Ward.
Mr. Chemjor said his office had considered spending time with the residents of Lelin during this Valentine’s Day. “The medical camp has been a success. We have screened and treated several people here. We are going to plan for more medical camps,” he said, “we also had support from Ampath, and we appreciate that so much.”
