Iten County Referral Hospital (ICRH) has partnered with Kabarak University on various areas of medical training and research.
The partnership includes student attachment programs, internship placements, and joint planning meetings for health sciences education at the hospital.
The Nakuru County based University signed a Memorandum of Understanding signed an MOU with ICRH for placement of it’s school of medicine and health science and school of pharmacy students.
Kabarak University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplangat said the arrangement would see a mutual benefit between the university and the hospital.
The team from Kabarak included Prof. John Ochola -Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Research) and Prof. Pamela Kimeto-Dean School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Prof. Kiplangat emphasized that the partnership aims not only to enhance practical training for students but also to contribute to the advancement of healthcare services within the county and address various challenges in the county through collaborative research.
Deputy Governor Prof. Grace Cheserek said the collaboration would play a key role in improving hospital standards and building the capacity of county health staff.
She underscored several areas for research collaboration, including agriculture, health, and information technology, among others.
