Governor Rotich signs MoU with Mwalimu Connect.

Excellency Governor Wisley Rotich today inked a Memorandum of Understanding with Mwalimu Connect,which will offer comprehensive training, job creation for the youth, and access to digital platforms.

Mwalimu Connect is a platform dedicated to empowering educators across the country through innovative digital tools.
In the arrangement, Mwalimu Connect will set up ramifications garages in all the 20 wards, train teachers on AI, and introduce coding & robotics to ECDE and Vocational Training centres.
“We are going to utilise all our ICT centres across the county. This will ensure that our youth earn through the current digital space,” said the governor.
The programme will be of free access to Elgeyo Marakwet County residents.
Mwalimu Connect will also equip ICT centres with HP laptops and desktop computers and offer short courses to youth.
According to Mwalimu Connect CEO Stephen Gatei, the programme will also entail training and job opportunities within the county as well as creating opportunities for the youth and beneficiaries to enhance their capabilities as individuals and small businesses through training, mentorship,businesses access, ICT and job creation.

Present were CECs Michael Kibiwott, Edwin Seroney, and COs Paul Ruto and Lily Kimetto and County Dorcus Cheruiyot Attorney among other county staff.
