Governor Rotich secures Ambulance for Kapyego Ward

Elgeyo Marakwet County Governor Wisley Rotich has secured an ambulance for Kapyego Health Centre.

The vehicle, a donation from the national government will used for timeline and effective emergency health services and referral cases in Kapyego and Lelan Wards.

“It is a sigh of relief for residents of Kapyego,Lelan and its environs who have suffered for decades due to lack of emergency health services and means to refer patients for specialised treatment,” said Governor Rotich while recieving the vehicle at Afya House, Nairobi, “I am glad to report that we have today received a brand new ambulance from the Ministry of Health in recognition of our transformative health agenda.”

This ambulance will be stationed at the Kapyego health centre, the furthest end and will serve Kapyego,Lelan Wards and its environs.

Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha commended Governor Rotich for scaling up primary health care in the County which according to her, will reduce cost of treatment.

“I have seen your keen attention on primary care which majorly targets diseases prevention. It is through this model where cost of medical care down,” the CS said to Governor Rotich.

The Governor under his Afya Bora program has aggressively addressed primary medical care through medical camps where residents have benefited from the free medical screening in seven Wards.
