In a bid to boost tree cover through mango and coffee value chain in Elgeyo Marakwet County, the team drawn from Climate Change Unit(CCU) Today where in Arror Ward where over 200 farmers were vetted to benefit from 4,800 Mangoes, water pan liners saw 70 farmers validated.
In Soy South Ward, over 500 farmers were identified to plant 27,000 Coffee Seedlings and 6,000 mangoes and other 80 Farmers are set to utilize 70 water liners.
The same exercise was done in Kapchemutwa and In Sambirir ward where CECm Robert Kangongo incharge of cooperative let the exercise Kipkaner Location Farmer validation and identification barazas.
The activity gives opportunity to encourage farmers to take this earliest initiative to plant cash Crops that will go along in elevating poverty Reduction.
Under this project, farmers validated will get their seedlings as soon as possible to utilize the ongoing Rains experienced in various parts of this country.
