Extension officers urged to communicate to farmers…

Agricultural extension officers have been identified as the lead persons in cascading the county’s wealth creation strategy.
The officers, according to Agriculture CEC Edwin Seroney, provide the critical connection between farmers and other actors, thereby positively influencing production.
Speaking to the Sub County and Ward Agricultural officers on Tuesday, Mr. Seroney urged the officers to stay close to farmers and advise them accordingly on what crops to grow in their areas of jurisdiction.
He also sensitised them the upcoming bonus payment model plan for pyrethrum farmers by Kentegra.
The workshop was a Lead Farmers Concept Model for implementation on High Iron Beans and Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato organised by HarvestPlus.
