Elgeyo Marakwet County has validated the Ending Drought Emergency (EDE) under Common Programing Framework CPF II strategy, a national initiative aimed at building resilience against drought and climate-related disasters.
The validation meeting, brought together stakeholders to endorse the strategy, which will run until 2032. The EDE is a national strategy coordinated at both national and county levels through steering groups.
At the national level, the strategy is chaired by the Deputy President, while at the county level, it is chaired by Governor and co-chaired by the County Commissioner. The initiative is founded on the Constitution of Kenya, Vision 2030, and other frameworks.
