It is also among the few counties that have enlisted the State Department for Perfomance and Delivery Management to oversee implementation.
Officials from the State Department are in the County for a four day exercise to carry out a mid year assessment of performance by County Departments for the current Financial Year.
The team, led by Director of Performance Contract Unit Mr Isaac Lagat, commended Elgeyo Marakwet for the bold move to have an external partner vet, review and assess its performance contracts.
“I must commend you for embracing performance contracting early because there is a bill in Parliament that will in the near future make it compulsory for public institutions to have this in place before exchequer releases,” he said.
County Secretary, Mr Lazarus Chebii, said H.E Governor Wisley Rotich had approached the State Department to help mainstream Performance Contracting to build the capacity of staff to deliver services to County residents.
“Iam glad that County Departments have embraced it fully and this will no doubt translate to improved service delivery,” he added.
Present at the mid year review inception meeting were CECs, Chief Officers, Directors and other Senior staff.
