Elgeyo Marakwet is among 15 counties in Kenya supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation, GIZ, to strengthen good governance and institutional accountability.
GIZ Representative and Team Leader for the Good Governance Programme, Ms Teresa Catalano, paid a courtesy call to Governor Wisley Rotichโs office in Iten on Tuesday. She was received by Deputy Governor Prof. Grace Cheserek.
The engagement focused on GIZโs support for implementing audit recommendations from the Office of the Auditor General and the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority.
The partnership aims to address the root causes of audit queries and improve transparency, efficiency, and accountability in public service delivery.
Also present were County Secretary Lazarus Chebii, County ministers for Public Service and Finance Edwin Seroney and Alpheus Tanui respectively, Chief Officers Daniel Kimutai, Charity Kimaiyo and Lorna Kipsang, and County Attorney Dorcus Cheruiyot.
