Medical practitioners are set to resume work tomorrow after signing a return-to-work agreement with the county government, ending a pending industrial action.
The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists, and Dentists Union (KMPDU) inked the deal with county officials, led by County Secretary Lazarus Chebii, Health CEC Monica Rotich, and CO Jeremiah Chirchir, following marathon negotiations.
“We have addressed most of the issues raised by the union, and we expect doctors to report back to duty tomorrow,” said Rotich.
KMPDU’s North Rift Secretary, Dr. Kamonzi Mulei, confirmed the agreement, stating, “We’ve reached an amicable solution, and our doctors will resume work immediately.”
