H.E Governor Wisley Rotich today toured Embobut-Embolot Ward to rally locals to grow pyrethrum which is the County’s white gold.
He called on residents in all seven sub-locations: Kipchumwa, Wewo, Endul, Maron, Mumol, Kaitamoi, and Korou to engage in the well paying enterprise.
In collaboration with the County’s partner Kentegra, 3,000 seed sachets were distributed, enough to cultivate 750 acres of land in the Ward.
By August next year, households in Embobut-Embolot Ward will subsequently be expected to generate a monthly income of approximately sh 4 million shillings.
“I would like to extend my gratitude to Kentegra for their vital support in our wealth creation strategy,” said the Governor.
Present were area MCA Paul Kipyatich, Maurice Muokh and Amon Melly from Kentegra, COs Edwin Komen, Robert Lagat, Lorna Kipsang, and other county officials.
