AMPATH has handed over assortment of equipment to support health facilities in Elgeyo Marakwet.
The equipment which comprised computers, furniture and essential medical equipment were officially handed over on Thursday at Iten during a brief ceremony attended by the agency’s Chief of Party Prof. Sylvester Kimaiyo.
Governor Wisley Rotich said his administration is proud of the long-standing partnership with AMPATH (Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare), a collaboration that continued to transform health standards in the county.
Under the Integrated Sample Referral System (ISRS), the County facilities are now being connected through a unified referral network, the governor added.
According to the governor, this means Elgeyo Marakwet will have faster and easier sample referral between facilities and real-time monitoring of turnaround times for every sample.
In his address, Rotich pointed out that his administration has already identified a dedicated team of riders assigned to specific routes for efficient transportation.
The governor said:”I would like to thank AMPATH for this incredible boost.
Together, we are building a stronger, more connected, and more responsive healthcare system for everyone.”
