Jane Chebii’s Coffee Farming Venture Transforms Lives in Kapchebar.

Jane Chebii, a small-scale coffee farmer from Kapchebar, Tambach Ward in Elgeyo Marakwet County, received 250 coffee seedlings from the county government in March 2024, marking a significant milestone in her farming journey. With a projected yield of 500kgs of dried cherries, Chebii aims to expand her farming activities and secure her children’s education.

‎The community is abuzz with excitement, noting a shift in mindset towards farming. “The community are happy and they have changed their mindset,” Chebii says, reflecting the positive impact of her initiative.

‎The Elgeyo Marakwet County Government has been actively promoting coffee farming, distributing coffee seedlings to farmers in all coffee growing wards across the county.

‎The initiative aims to boost farmer incomes and strengthen the region’s role in the national coffee value chain.
