Elgeyo Marakwet County Government today hosted the Stakeholders led by County Government staff, Ward climate change committees drawn from all 20 Wards and officers from world vision Kenya during zero draft FMNR Policy public participation exercise.
The Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) policy is a farmer led process seeking to address food security, climate change, and unemployment in Elgeyo Marakwet County through regeneration, restoration and conservation of forest cover.
Supported by World Vision Kenya’s Central Rift Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (CRIFSUP) project, the policy promotes sustainable land management practices, enhancing resilience to climate change.
The exercise was officiated by CECm Emmy Kosgei on behalf of CECm Jason Lagat.
