Residents of Chepkorio and its surrounding areas are celebrating the commissioning of new extra wards at the Chepkorio Health Center in Keiyo South Sub County.
The new male, female, and pediatric wards will provide much needed relief to patients who have often been forced to travel to other health facilities due to limited bed capacity.
The new facility also includes a full haemogram and biochemistry machine, which will make it easier for doctors to diagnose and treat patients. Additionally, the county government has started the process of upgrading the facility to a Sub County Hospital.
The commissioning of the new wards was celebrated with a free medical screening event, and was attended by area MCA Kimeli, CEC Health Michael Kibiwott, Keiyo South DCC Madam Wekesa, and other government officials.
The event was part of the county government’s AFYA BORA program, which aims to provide quality, safe, and affordable health services to the people of Chepkorio and its surrounding areas. The government is also planning to upgrade several other health facilities in the county to create model health centers.
