County Government staff led by County Secretary Paul Chemmuttut joined Iten Environment and Land Court Judge Lady Justice Lucy Waithaka in a clean up exercise within Iten town to mark 10 years since the Court was created within the Judiciary to handle environment and land cases.

National Government staff led by County Commissioner Mr. John Korir and County Assembly staff led by Speaker Kiplagat Sabulei also participated in the event which saw Iten streets cleaned off garbage.

Members of the public also joined the clean up exercise and lauded the Government officials for leading the way in ensuring the environment around Iten was clean.

The clean up was organised in conjunction with Green Earth Ambassadors, an environmental non-governmental organisation.

The event was held as a precursor to the Judiciary’s open day in Iten, scheduled for November 4th, where residents will be sensitized on the new Environment and Land Court in the County. The event will be held at the Iten public grounds.
