Governor Wisley Rotich on Friday commissioned a standard two-disc coffee cherry pulping machine in Teber, Kocholwo, in Keiyo South Sub-County.
The machine removes the outer cover and pulp from freshly harvested coffee cherries to prepare the beans for wet processing and fermentation.
The equipment has a capacity of pulping 2 tonnes of coffee berries per hour.
According to the locals, the development was a relief to farmers who previously relied on hand-driven machines.
“I will continue encouraging our farmers to grow more coffee in support of our wealth creation strategy,” the Governor said
