Elgeyo Marakwet County has started receiving both planting and top-dressing fertilizer in preparation for the expected El Nino rainy season.
Governor Wisley Rotich has called on farmers across the county to seize the opportunity and farm short-term crops.
“To compensate on the crop failure that we have experienced this year, we urge farmers to venture into short-term crops and also plant the fruit cash crops when the El Nino rains begin,” the governor said.
According to the governor, the fertilizer will be obtained at Sh2,000.
