The County government in partnership with development partners has distributed 13 tonnes of iron-rich Nyota variety beans to farmers for planting.

Governor Wisley Rotich led the distribution exercise at Chesoi Sub County offices in Marakwet East where hundreds of farmers attended.
Under the REACTS-IN program, an additional 20 tonnes will be distributed to farmers in Marakwet West, Keiyo South, and Keiyo North Sub-Counties. The program targets 6,500 vulnerable households including persons living with disabilities, expectant mothers, and the elderly.
Beyond improving nutrition, this initiative serves as a catalyst for the Governor’s wealth creation strategy, enabling farmers to earn income through the sale of their produce.
Speaking the event, the Governor extended his appreciation to the development partners: World Vision Kenya and Anglican Development Services.
Similar distribution exercise will be taking place in course of the week in Keiyo South.
Present were Peter Nyorsok, CEO of ADS; Evans Wanunda from World Vision; CECs Edwin Kibor and Robert Kangogo; CO Edwin Komen; CDA James Wekesa; and other county staff.
