The Department of Water, Environment, and Climate Change Elgeyo Marakwet County has taken a significant step towards addressing climate change by hosting a consultative meeting with the Chairpersons Ward Climate Change Planning Committee in preparation to Implemention of County climate resilient investment Grant 2(CCRIG).
The committee, comprising representatives from all 20 wards, gathered to discuss project implementation and provide input on climate change initiatives. This meeting marks a crucial milestone in the county’s efforts to address climate change and its impacts on local communities.
The FLLOCA project aims to support climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts at the ward level, and this meeting has informed the project’s rollout. The committee’s input is vital in ensuring that climate change initiatives are tailored to the specific needs of each ward.
The county government has emphasized its commitment to addressing climate change and promoting sustainable development. This meeting is a testament to that commitment and a step towards a more climate-resilient Elgeyo Marakwet County.
