In response to the recent landslides and mudslide in Chesongoch, the Lions Clubs International Foundation, led by District Governor 411A, Amb. Simon Njoroge, today visited the affected areas to distribute foodstuffs and bedding to displaced families.
The delegation paid a courtesy call to the Iten Lions Club President, Deputy Governor Prof. Grace Cheserek.
Following the recent tragedy in Kibendo, Emsoo Ward, Chesongoch (Endo Ward), as well as Embobut/Embolot Ward, the County Government, in collaboration with the National Government, will commence the construction of houses next week for families who lost their homes.
The team also visited victims in Kapsowar Ward following strong winds that displaced eight families and tragically claimed the life of one woman.
Prof. Cheserek was accompanied by CECm Road, Eng. Emmy Kosgei, and Chief Officers Lorna Kipsang, Edwin Komen, and Lawrence Mutwol.
