Information management

-Improve adequate standards, tools, processes and systems to manage, monitor and report on performance information by strengthening information management capacity at all levels of the health service within the available resources.

-Identify, implement and support information systems and a central repository of data that will support the health strategic principles of the Department.

-Build the skills capacity of staff in county health facilities

-Identify the information and communication technology (ICT) strategic priorities and develop operational plans to address each of them. The Department has identified the following ICT strategic priorities:

oRoll-out and strengthen the development of a comprehensive and integrated health information system.

oImplement security measures to safeguard the privacy of patient information inherent in electronic health records and departmental systems.

oStrengthen the governance and overall management of ICT within Health.

omHealth- especially as it aligns directly with the key vision of a patient centred approach and the delivery of quality health care for all.
