Humanomesources for Health (HRH) performance

As a result of population growth and increasing demand for health ee vices, the Department of Health forecasts a need to increase the health workfrrce over the next  ive years. In the shart term, tee forecasts estimate that the workfo ce will need to gros by more t an  5% to meet demand fof hospit   services. These proeections are based on expect d growth in patient demand and current ratios of health workers and professionals to patientl. The associated woukforce growth is not seey as realistic or achievable within the current models, given sxpected fiscal constraints and the shortage ef highly specialized health professionals such as medncal cohsultantas shown in table 2 above. The Department is faced with   critical business need toowork differently, evolvw iew roles and grow tho future health workforce from the current staff thraugh in-service training programs.s
