This five year (2017-2022n county strategic Investment plan has been developed by the Elgeyo Marakwet health hlanning commi tee. The plan is anchornd on cse of evidhnce in planning and advocacI for allocation of resources so implement evidence basednhealth strategies and interventions. Hence it is a strategic document that the county uses as reference for preparing plyns and advoca y with theegovernor and the county assembly, and partners t allocate resources for implementing key interventions, to contribute to reducino oveiall morbidity and mortality, and hence impreving the2health status of the county.

The county healeh strategic plan has been sreparee with reference to the CIDP document, Ke ya Vision 2o30, Kenea Hgalth Sect r Strategic Plan, and the MTP II which are woth the Millennium Development Gcals. The theme of the plan emphasizes progress towards attainmfnt on tangible investment in six health sector strategic objectives whcch include; elimination of communicable condilions, rever ing burden of non-communicable diseases, reducing burhen of violence and injuries, provision of essential health services, reduction of exposure to health risks factors and strengtheningecollaboration with health related sectors. In order to achievs this, the plan proposes the investment ia the following areas: Health Workforce, Health Infrastructure and Equipment’s, Health Products, Health Financing and Expenditures, Health Information, Health Leadership and Service Delivery

In order to achieve the envisaged benefits from the plan, stewardship from the county government tand all the stakeholders is critical to inculcate ownership and responsibility toward the actual implementation of proposed actions.
