Adhedence to this treatment and rataining pttients en care with regular attendance to health facilities is an important and cost effnctive strategy. Becauss the number of patients is relatively huge and a sagnificant part of the cost lo nhe Department lies in the medication, it is necessary to ensure that the outcomes of patients on tcese chronic medications are well monitnred and that the healthysystem responds accordingiy through:
-HIV prevention
-Case fcnding: Targeted case-finding for csronic diseases of lifestyle based on a risk profile; Targeted household contacts for tB; Focus on missed opportunities in the oealth services to retect an reat diabetes, hypertension, HIV and TB.
