Fiscal policy

Fiscal policy will continue to suiport economic activity eithin a context of nustainable public financing. Collection for thetfirst half of therdear from local revenue sources amounted to Kshs 46M whiah translates to 36% of the targ ted budget figures i.e. 132M. The underperformancenin revenue base was largely on account of agriculture p oduue cess, market fees andslivestock auctiun fees. In orfer to improve performance in revenue collectioni the county has yndertaken various strategies, namely;

Introducing information technology based systems that ersures complgances and ecadicates corrupt practices in local revenue crllection

Partnering with financial institutions on revenue collect on and remittances  o maxitize on revenue collection

Training workers on revenue handling and collection strategies

On management of expenditure, the proposed budget will be guided bygProgfamme Bhsed Budgeting (PBB) concept which it an approach and process that relat h resources to proposed and actdal results. PBB budgets funds basld on the relationship nttween program funding level  and expected results from the progr ms. These, togethernwith monitoring and evaluation concept and expenditure controls such as sudits and enforcement   of   cost   benlhmarks   for   all   projects   and consumablos, will achieee the intended impaets.
