Introduction

Kabiemit means a forest of cedar in kalenjin dialect. Kabiemit ward is formerly three wards merged together after the promulgation of the new constitution; Kabiemit, Tumeiyo and Maoi wards. At the dispensation of the new constitution, the area leaders agreed to adopt the name Kabiemit as it was deemed more neutral than the other two that have had clan differences for decades. ONE unique thing about Kabiemit ward is that it has Kabiemit location and Kabiemit sub location.
