Resolution to a peaceful Kerio Valley...

Efforts to restore peace in Kerio Valley have marked an important step when both Pokot and Marakwet communities and their leaders, converged in Kolowo, Tiaty constituency to make a declaration of peace witnessed by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) led by Chairman Francis ole Kaparo and leaders from both Baringo and Elgeyo Marakwet County. Governor Tolgos speaking at the meeting in Kolowo, thanked Mzee Ole Kaparo for heeding the call to help arbitrate over the dispute between the two communities and spending the last 3 days with at the Valley to broker peace. The peace deal was cemented by prayers and slaughtering of a cow as per the traditions. The Pokot and Marakwet communities believe they shall see an end to the unfortunate incidences of the recent past and now forge ahead to make Kerio Valley peaceful and prosperous.
