Bird watching in EMC LA function to launch the Migratory Birds Flyway Observatory site and the Bird Watching awareness Week was held on Saturday at Tugumoi ridge which stands 8000ft from the beginning of scenic view of Kerio Valley -Elgeyo Marakwet escarpment. Representatives from Kenya Tourism Board, Nature Kenya and Bird Life were present to witness the launch of the birdwatching awareness and viewing site.Among the birds that sail on the flyway are Lesser Kestrels, European Honey Buzzards, Common (Steppe) Buzzards, Steppe Eagles,White Storks and Woolly-necked Storks.The birds migrate from Europe to Jordan then to South Africa for breeding and they pass-by Kenya (Kerio Valley-Tugumoi) flyway then to Ethiopia and back to Europe.
